Learn the basics of photography or expand your current knowledge by learning some advanced photography techniques. We provide one on one photography lessons in Oakland, Berkeley, and the East Bay. Learn the in’s and out’s of photography with a professional photographer with over a decade of experience and turn your camera into a tool to create meaningful and fun visual content.
Bay Area Individual and Group Photo CLASSES
Our photo lessons cover how to use your camera, provide instruction on the basic manual camera functions including aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. We will cover the basics of composition and how to use framing creatively. We will discuss different types of lenses by exploring what they do and how to use them.
We will discuss different types of natural and available light and how to utilize it to get the shot you want.
Individual lessons start at $90 per hour. Most lessons are 1 to 2 hours in length depending on the student and specific lesson. Our initial lesson will build off your current photography knowledge.

I’ve been photographing weddings, families, headshots, and events for over 15 years and I love sharing my passion for photography with others and helping students see and capture the world with their cameras.
My approach to teaching is focused on meeting each student where they are at and adapting our lessons accordingly. I strive to provide a learning environment that is friendly, encouraging, and supportive.

What topics do one-on-one photography classes cover?
I meet my students where they are it and tailor our one-on-one classes to their needs. This might look like exploring the features and functionality of your camera, helping you get more comfortable with shooting in manual mode, or helping to create specific types of photos.
Where do the photo lessons take place?
Typically my sessions take place in Oakland, Berkeley, or the immediate East Bay area. That being said I’m available to travel relative to my schedule so please reach out.
What age group are your photography CLASSES for?
All ages are welcome! I have experience teaching children, teens, and older adults.
Do I need a camera to take a lesson?
Yes. Please bring your own digital camera.
