Engagement session in Santa Cruz

Well, weather certainly has been a bit soggy lately! While that's a great thing for our parched state, it puts a bit of a crimp in our shoot schedule. Luckily last weekend we managed to pull off a super nice day down south for a fun engagement session in Santa Cruz. Stormy weather subsided and left us with some great atmosphere late in the afternoon. We loved working with the light that day and had fun building shots around the lighthouse and nearby green space. Prior to the shoot Kate and Brody asked us if they could bring their pup Charlie along too. Are you kidding? We love when our couples include their special friends! A great little trip and we love the images. Cheers to Kate, Brody, and Charlie! See you all soon!

Anniversary photo session in San Francisco

Earlier this Spring we met up with Hannah and Greg in San Francisco to celebrate and photograph their wedding anniversary. Hannah and Greg were in town visiting from Texas and were excited to take photos to remember their trip. We had such a nice time working with these two as we explored the Presidio and nearby Crissy Field. Celebrating their anniversary with new portraits has become a tradition of theirs and we are so happy to have been part of that.

Engagement session on the Embarcadero

The other day we were walking around in downtown San Francisco and we thought it would be so great to one day do an engagement session on the Embarcadero.  Many of our recent engagement sessions have happened in wide open nature spaces, so the idea of exploring a more urban area and experimenting with some new scenery was exciting.  A few weeks later that opportunity presented itself.  We had spoken to Michelle and Geoff and had been going back and forth about where to shoot their session and we remembered some of the cool city spots we had found recently.  We met Michelle and Geoff near Justin Herman Plaza and set off to explore some green space at Sydney G. Walton Square and some of the areas around the Embarcadero.  The couple brought their fantastic smiles and great attitude as well as their two dogs George and Frankie. Our evening ended with us shooting some twilight photos on Pier 7. We had a lovely time shooting with these guys and wish them well as they set off for their wedding in the Dominican Republic next year.

Engagement Session in the Presidio

A couple of weeks back Christian and I met Kathleen and Jorgen at one of our favorite places in San Francisco to shoot, the Presidio.  The Presidio has so much variety contained within its borders and it never fails to inspire us.  We connected with our couple and their dog Quattro in the late afternoon and shot into the early evening. We spent our time exploring some of the unique buildings and open spaces along the way.  These guys were super fun to shoot and did a great job being comfortable in front of the camera.  The grounds were beautiful and we caught some awesome San Francisco twilight. We look forward to working with Kathleen, Jorgen, and Quattro this Summer for their wedding at the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts.

U.C. Berkeley Engagement Session

We met Farzaneh and Sobhan on the U.C. Berkeley Campus the other day and we took a leisurely stroll around the grounds.   We kicked it off at the Eucalyptus Grove, made our way to the Campanile, and finished at the Faculty Glade.  The Cal campus made for a lovely backdrop as we captured some sweet engagement photos.
